WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT U.S. CITIZENS PROVIDING AN ID

“If proving you are a citizen is too much work for you, maybe you are not mature enough to pick the people running the country.”

Let’s address some of the excuses and apply the facts and some simple common sense.

CHUCK SCHUMER CALLS VOTER ID ‘JIM CROW 2.0’ – THAT’S RICH CHUCK!

Oh, so it was Democrats back then but somehow, it’s not Democrats today? Cute. Chuck Schumer is out here screaming “Jim Crow 2.0” at common sense voter ID, using the exact same label his party invented, perfected and defended for a hundred years.

Democrats owned Jim Crow lock, stock and barrel.  Southern Democrats wrote the laws, enforced them and filibustered every civil rights bill.  The Dixiecrats* were Democrats in 1948 and most stayed Democrats for decades. It was Democrats who built poll taxes, literacy tests and segregation to keep Black Americans from voting.

Meanwhile, Republicans have been the party of equality since the 1800s. The first Black senators and congressmen were all Republicans. When it came time to kill Jim Crow in 1964 and ’65, Republicans voted yes at far higher rates than Democrats.

So, here’s the question for today’s Democrats:  If you’re so different from the party that created Jim Crow, why are you the ones waving that ugly banner around again? Voter ID isn’t racism. It’s basic election security. One side built the barriers. The other side is still fighting to keep elections honest. History’s not on your side Chuck!

Look, the usual complaints are just weak excuses dressed up as concern.  “It is a poll tax on the poor”. Every single state that requires voter ID gives them out for free.  Stop lying.  If you can’t manage to get a free ID with a birth certificate, you are not oppressed, you are simply incompetent.

“Millions of people don’t have ID, especially minorities.”  The real number with zero ID is about 1%.  Not tens of Millions! Not Racist! Not Systematic!  It is just a tiny group who apparently can’t be bothered with what every adult does every single day.  The claim that it is several million people is simply because those people have not changed their addresses, haven’t updated their driver’s license and have let them expire or haven’t changed their last names.   First time voters turning 18 can get a free state ID at the DMV the same week they turn 18 and plenty of states accept a birth certificate, passport or student ID for first time voters.  This isn’t voter suppression, it’s basic adulting.

Women worried about married names? Updating your Driver’s License after marriage is a legal requirement, not optional.  In every single state, a woman can change her maiden name to her husband’s last name by providing the marriage certificate to the DMV and/or Social Security Administration (of course, there are exceptions to this if other issues are involved).  Typically, it takes a few weeks to process and to receive the completed documents.  You update your bank accounts, taxes and passport (by the way, your passport can be used as an ID).

Side note – to those women who are married yet still haven’t changed their last names you might want to have a deeper discussion with your husband LOL.

“Old people and students can’t get an ID!”  Anyone collecting Social Security or Medicare already proved who they are.  Students carry school ID’s.  Nursing homes are offered mobile DMV visits.  The only people these stops are those that are too lazy to walk through the front door.

“Voter fraud rarely happens!”  Small amounts of fraud can flip close races.  Just one stolen election is too many.  Hey Lefties, please note this fact, every other developed country on earth requires ID because they understand the basic reality, if you won’t prove that you are a citizen, your vote shouldn’t count.

These arguments are not serious.  They are emotional manipulation designed to protect a system where potentially anyone can walk in and vote with zero verification.  Democrats have run this same scare tactic for years. Every single time, the predictions collapse. Georgia, Indiana, Kansas and other states tightened their rules and turnout either held steady or went up including among Black voters. Meanwhile, millions have crossed the border illegally with no citizenship check. Without proof of citizenship there’s nothing stopping non-citizens from registering and voting. Voter ID isn’t hard.  It is honest.  That is why certain people hate it.

Bottom line, if proving you are a citizen is too much work for you, maybe you are not mature enough to pick the people running the country.  Voter ID doesn’t suppress votes, it protects them.  Time to grow up.

There, I said it anyway.
