About Me

I’m a 66-year-old husband, father, and grandfather with nearly 50 years of experience in the building, construction, and manufacturing industries. Over the years, I’ve lived through both success and failure, and each has shaped who I am.

From a young age, I’ve had a passion for politics and government. Some of the biggest influences on my life were the assassinations of JFK, Bobby Kennedy, and Martin Luther King; the moon landing; Nixon’s resignation and Watergate; and Ronald Reagan’s presidency. Growing up in Southern California during the first 14 years of my life, I also witnessed the riots of the 60s, the Vietnam War, gas rationing, and the impact of inflation in the late 70s.

Culturally, I was shaped by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and the music and movies of the 60s and 70s. Later events like the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11 also left a mark.

On a personal note, I admire and appreciate my wife’s patience more with each passing year. In my younger days, golf was a favorite hobby, but for the past 12 or 13 years, poker has been a real passion.

Since 2009, I’ve kept a presence on Twitter and a blog site, though only part-time. As I move toward retirement, I want to dedicate more time and consistency to writing. Much of what I wrote about in the past; especially in politics, has come to fruition, and I believe I have much more to say.
